The golfing world according to Michael Moolman:

Where did it all begin and who knows where it will go. With the modern game originating from Scotland somewhere in the 15th century, golf has come a long way from its humble beginnings.
Many things have changed over the 6 centuries since, none more than the golfing attire and equipment.
Classic Golf Attire
From the old knickers or plus-fours, probably last worn with distinction and pride by Payne Stewart, to the new age white golf pants, where it feels like I am watching Wimbledon rather than golf or even worse jeano’s, introduced by Dictator Jimmy Abbott during the 2012 tour and which have since taken nothing by storm.
Something more modern worn by John Daly
Equipment has also changed from the once wooden “woods” to metal “woods”, where distance, control and forgiveness have been enhanced and are highly sort after when one steps into Stutter Putters office where great deals cannot be found. There are whispers that the real reason behind the change from wood to metal was due to green peace, as they could no longer stand by and watch the world’s forests be destroyed, to create the weapon the Ax Man would use to destroy even more trees during his round of golf.

Despite these enhancements, the once great tradition of being a gentlemen’s game is being tarnished by cheaters and players misrepresenting their handicaps just to win. Cheating has found its way to the top of the golfing world, with the ex-chairman and current chairman of the great SOS Tour being found guilty of getting players to hold trees back and playing from out of bounds respectively. If this trend is not stopped, our once loved game may never find its way into the top echelon of sport, the Olympics.

One other major change is the talking point of where do woman fit into the golfing world. In my junior golfing days there was a time where the sight of a lady on the tee box before me was terrifying and held the expectation of a long day ahead with miss hits and freshies galore. Since joining the SOS tour, one becomes more patient, playing behind or with what could only be described as the sloth of the golfing world.
A sloth has No, No, No, No place in golf
As one of the players with a significant other there is no harder thing than telling your loved one you’re playing golf on Sunday again and you see the disgust in their face. This perception is something that some of us are looking to change, none more than Chad, already taking his missus for golfing lessons, and hey who can blame him if you want to play more golf one needs the female to buy into the game and start playing, except on SOS tour that’s not allowed.
Women however do have a place in Golf – Natalie Gulbis
From the old wives tale of “Gentlemen only, ladies forbidden” to the opening up of Augusta to female members much has changed but golf is a game of tradition, and nothing beats the tradition of a drink with your mates after a long day on the course, not much has changed there.
