Free State Golf Courses
South Africa’s richest agricultural province, and home to our highest court, the Free State is not regarded as a tourism hotspot. Yet despite the lack of interest in Free State from foreign travelers, the province offers up some of the very best golfing experiences the country has to offer. Bloemfontein has several renowned courses and there is also a mix of great course along the Vaal River and gimmicky courses in dry dusty towns.
Golf in the Free State is a growing industry. There are one or two Sunshine Tour events hosted by the province each year and with the demand for good courses growing across the country, the Free State’s rich fertile land offers a canvas to create some of the finest courses the country could have to offer.
